Located in the Arcata High School library, the Career and College Center is open 25 hours a week (see above), and serves Arcata High and Six Rivers Charter High schools. Students can make two appointments per semester to visit the Center during classtime to consult with the coordinator and/or our volunteer staff to research information about choices after high school.  Arcata High students sign up for appointments on the Center’s clipboard in the AHS Attendance office. Six Rivers Charter High School students sign up on the Career and College sheet in room 704. Parents can also make appointments with the coordinator.  AHS and SRCHS staff are welcome to stop by and arrange for presentations of certain material in their classrooms, or check out hardcopy resources.

The Center also sponsors a Community Speaker's Series, Job Shadow program, Career & Education Fair, Grad Panels, and other activities that give students the chance to connect with members of our community to learn about a wide array of educational opportunities, jobs and careers.  All center activities and events are posted on the Arcata High School website homepage and advertised in the school bulletin.
The Center relies on community volunteers to serve as Job Shadow hosts, guests on our Speakers Series panels, and as volunteer counselors to share information with students.
To volunteer, please sign up HERE .        Thank you very much for your support.
